Introduction

This course is Physics 580-581, which will cover Quantum Mechanics at the graduate level. The course is intended to bring the knowledge and expertise of physics graduate students up to a modern level, either as a stand-alone course or as preparation for more advanced courses offered in the Department, such as Quantum Field Theory. The course will cover all of the basic quantum mechanical material, in a modern mathematically informed fashion. In addition, introductions to topics of current research interest, such as quantum entanglement and quantum information theory, will be given.

Please note that under current circumstances, registration for this course is limited to UIUC graduate students, and in particular, only those students enrolled in Section A of the course are permitted to attend in-person lectures.
