• How many atoms are in a 1 cm cube (~sugar cube)

• Size of atom around 10-10 m

• One line of atoms 1 cm long = 10-2 m

Cube: 108 layers x 1016 atoms/layer = 1024 atoms

One layer: 108 rows = 108 atoms/row = 1016 atoms
