Your grade will be based on your performance on the classroom attendance/participation, homework assignments, quizzes, the two midterm exams, and the final exam. The total number of points possible in the course will be 1000. The breakdown will be as follows: 

Grade boundaries: A (>900), B (>800), C (>700), D(>600)

• Participation grades will be determined by means of i>clicker questions during lecture.
• You will receive full participation credit for the day if answering the i>clicker questions during lecture.
• Participation is worth 3 points per lecture, up to a maximum of 60 points for the semester.
• You will not be graded on correctness; if you give an answer for each question, you will receive full credit for that day.

• Homework assignments for this course will be completed online.
• Homework sets will be made available on Monday at noon each week.
• The assignments will be due on Sunday by midnight.
• Late homework will receive a grade of zero.

• Short quizzes will be given in class.
• The quizzes will cover the reading assignment for the current week.
• Solutions will be posted after the quiz each week.
• At the end of the semester, your lowest quiz grade will be dropped.

• There will be two midterm exams and one final exam.
• Dates:
  • Midterm 1: Thursday, Feb 28
  • Midterm 2: Thursday, Apr 18
  • Final Exam: Tuesday, May 7
