Physics 111 Lab Orientation
Many of these labs will use carts on adjustable tracks to study
fundamental principles of classical mechanics. Data will be collected
for analysis on Power Mac 7500 computers using an interface/software
package from Vernier Software.
Key Activities:
Simple 1D Motion: Making
Position-Time Graphs
Motion detectors will be used to
study position-time plots of various types of motion, including constant
velocity (top) and accelerated (bottom) motion
(Lecture 1).
Making Velocity-Time
Graphs
The relationship between
position- and velocity-time graphs will be studied using the motion
detector (Lecture 1).
