registrar's final exam page, which has finals
schedules for all your classes.
Conflict Exam Rules: read points (5) and (6) of the
student code - final exam section.
- Point (5) describes the important max-2-in-24hr rule:
no student can be required to take three exams
in a 24 hour period. Please read this important rule so you
know your rights!
- There is a strict order of precedence that determines which
courses have to offer you a conflict exam if you have a scheduling
collision (including the 2-in-24 rule).
As Phys 212 runs a "combined" final and has a very large number
of students, it is usually last in this order, i.e. you will take
our conflict exam, not that of smaller classes.
- You are free to sign up for our conflict sitting even if you
don't have a scheduling conflict, it's up to you. However
you may not do this if it would force another
course to give you a conflict exam that they have not otherwise
scheduled (i.e. a smaller course that is higher in the precedence
order than 212, as described above).
[Changed Monday afternoon, previous info was inaccurate]
Finally, if you do have a final exam scheduling collision and it is
unclear even after reading these rules which conflict exam to take,
email the instructors from all of the courses involved
at the same time so that they can work out among themselves who
will give you a conflict sitting.
