PHYS 212 James Scholars
For those of you intending to use Physics 212 to satisfy your James Scholar
requirement for an "honors" course, there are three things you must
do:
1.
You must obtain an Honors Credit Learning Agreement from your college
office. It must then be signed either by
your PHYS 212 lecturer.
The LAS James scholar program is described here. The
Engineering James Scholar program is described here (main JS page)
and here (specific
info about the HCLA).
Students in other colleges should consult their college office.
2. Turn in the five James Scholar assignments listed below. The assignments will
involve simple web-research, reading of articles, writing descriptions, and
simple calculations. We hope you will find them thought-provoking, and that
they give you a better appreciation for the wider application of
electro-magnetism to some of the latest cutting edge research and technology.
3. Remember to include your name, netID, and Discussion section on the top of the page! Please turn in your assignments into the Grading Box #9 labeled "Physics 212 James Scholars", located on the 2nd floor, in the interpass between Loomis and MRL (Materials Research Lab). Note that assignments must be neat and stapled together or they will not be graded.
4. James Scholars Office Hour: Mondays 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Loomis Room 147 (Anirbit Mukherjee).
