Spring Semester 2002:

Although the UIUC Physics POM course was not officially offered Spring Semester, 2002, Tom Whithee did a Physics 397 Independent Study Project with Prof. Errede on elucidating the theory of electric guitar pickups.

Juan Idrobo also did a Physics 397 Independent Study Project with Prof. Errede Spring Semester, 2002, developing a setup to mechanically induce a sinusoidal electrical signal in an electric guitar pickup using a short segment of an electric guitar string attached to the chuck of a high-speed air drill.
