Welcome to Physics 435!

End of semester information

--The final is Friday December 15 at 7pm.

--The formula sheets for the final are posted on the course schedule

--The final will be given in 2 rooms. Please got to Architecture 120 (last name starts with A-L) or Burill Hall 124 (last name starts with M-Z). Please go to the correct room to ensure that you have the full amount of time to take the final!

--The final will cover all the material in the class: chapters 1-7 plus the material from chapter 9 we have gone over on EM waves.

--There will be no lecture Monday December 11

--On Wednesday December 13 I will go over questions during the lecture hour. Please email me issues you would like discussed ahead of time.

--All lectures except tomorrow's are posted on the webpage.

--Office hours will continue as scheduled this week and next week. There is no discussion on Monday December 13.


Information about Exam 2

Exam 2 will by on November 13 at 7pm (details are in the course schedule). It will cover material from Chapters 4-6 of Griffiths. The formula sheet and a practice exam are posted on the schedule. You will be provided with a copy of the formula sheet with the exam; not other notes or calculators will be allowed. You can assume that I will provide you with any Legendre polynomials required for the exam.

Information about Exam 1

Exam 1 will be October 9 at 7pm (details are in the course schedule). It will cover material in Chapters 1-3 of Griffiths. The formula sheet is posted on the course schedule. You will be provided with a copy of the formula sheet with the exam. No other notes or calculators will be allowed.

 

Excused Absences

Homework is to be turned into the 435 homework box on the second floor of Loomis. Homeworks will not be accepted via email. Late homework will not be accepted without an official excuse (McKinley) presented within two weeks of the due date. One homework grade will be dropped over the course of the semester.
