Announcements:

1/29 I have posted mid 1 information in the schedule

2/16 I have posted solutions to hw1 and hw2 under schedule to help you prepare for Midterm 1 on Friday.

2/18 I have graded midterm1. Everyone did very well. Here is a summary.

2/10 On Friday, March 11 we will meet in 256 MEB because of Engineering Open house.  MEB is the first university building to the west of Goodwin and Green and is very close to Loomis.

2/25 I have posted information about midterm 2 under schedule.

3/14 All of the homework solutions relevant to midterm 2 have been posted under schedule.

3/14 I believe our final exam is on Fri 5/13/2011 8:00-11:00am in 136 Loomis

3/15 I posted the Lorentz Boost derivation used in lecture here (and in schedule) Think of this as a replacement for pages 11,12,13 of posted Rel-1 Notes

3/18 I have graded midterm 2.  The class did superbly.  Here are the results.

3/27 Matthew Freickert discovered a bad typo in HW 6. There is a minus sign error in question 1 b) in the equation where you show –rho/epsilon_0 = 0 which disagrees w/ Griffiths and my lecture Notes. Here is the corrected version of 1 b) .  Sorry for the mistake and I am glad Matthew caught it!

4/22 I have posted solutions to HW6-HW9 (relevant to midterm 3) under schedule.  Here is information about Midterm 3. We will go over the review  problems on Monday’s lecture.

4/29 I have graded midterm 3.  Here are the results. The class did a great job as usual.  We will begin reviewing for the final on Monday. The last homework is due on Wednesday.

5/14 I have graded the final.  Here are the results. The class did well as usual. I hope to have letter grades by noon on Monday.

5/16 Letter grades are now available.  It was a pleasure teaching you E&M! Best wishes, Jim
