Quantum Mechanics:
Most people have had basic quantum mechanics - wave equation, particle in a box, chemical bonds
For people with little background in quantum mechanics, I
will set up a special extra class if there is interest. If you are interested in an
extra session, send an email to me at
Interests:
Nanostructures - first by a large margin – I will increase the material near end of course and try to discuss more examples
Superconductivity – I will keep the emphasis I had already planned, possibly add more on superconducting materials and devices
Hall effect and quantum Hall effect – I can give a little
more emphasis – I could give an extra session for interested people later in
the course - If you are interested in an

Surfaces – I will try to be sure we cover aspects of surfaces
Magnetism - leave about as is
Phase transitions - leave about as is
