Welcome to Physics 580 (Fall 2013)

Graduate course in quantum mechanics for students with basic knowledge of undergraduate quantum mechanics. Physics 580 will include origins of quantum mechanics, complex vector and Hilbert spaces, qubits, the density matrix, von Neumann entropy, relevant topics in advanced classical mechanics, quantum dynamics in Schrodinger, Heisenberg and interaction pictures, Feynman propagator, Feynman path integral, symmetry in quantum mechanics, rotations in quantum mechanics, representative applications to bound and continuum systems.
