Simulations
Simulations guide us in informing the design of a setup - dimensions, material, arrangement, and so on. For the Muon Tomography focus area, we will be using C++ based software toolkits that were developed at CERN, the European Center for Nuclear Research:
- GEANT4 for the simulation of the passage of particles through matter. https://geant4.web.cern.ch/
- GARFIELD++ for the detailed simulation of particle detectors based on ionization measurements in gases and semiconductors. https://garfieldpp.docs.cern.ch/
Project Management
We recommend one of the following cloud-based tools, but other choices are possible and welcome, in particular if you are already familiar!
