Web Information
This course uses the Web extensively. Internet access and a Web browser are required for:
- prelectures, checkpoints, homework (smart.physics)
- your course grade book
- access to lecture slides and to other course information and notices
Computers with appropriate web browsers are available in Technology Services, Engineering Work Stations and housing division computer labs.
Required Materials
- For Discussion
- Your laptop or tablet
- A calculator with trigonometric functions.
- The Zoom Link for your Discussion Meeting
- Access to the course website.
- For Lab
Every student will need to have access to a recent Windows or Mac computer and to an IOLab device in order to do the prelab activities (done before every lab in your apartment or dorm room), and to design and perform experiments during your weekly lab class.
You will be able to rent an IOLab device if you don't already have access to one.
Update: If you don’t already have an IOLab device to use in your summer physics 211 labs you can rent one now at the following website:
https://store.macmillanlearning.com/us/product/iOLab-Version-2.0/p/1464101469
If you plan to take Physics 212 here in the fall (which also uses IOLab) then you will save money if you rent it for 6 months.
NOTE: When you check out from the online store you should use the code SHIPFREE and the shipping will be free.
Recommended Materials
