Welcome to Phys 225!
If you wake up feeling sick, do not come to class. Seek medical attention and request an EX grade.
Lecture
This class meets once per week on Tuesdays 4-5pm in Loomis 151.
Attendance in lecture will be taken via "one-minute papers" at the start and end of lecture, to be submitted through Gradescope by 11:59pm on the day of lecture.
Homework
We will have approximately one homework assignment due each week starting with Week 2.
Homework is typically due every Thursday, check the class schedule page for exceptions.
Each assignment must be uploaded to Gradescope on the deadline.
Discussion
Students must be on time and prepared for discussion. You will need:
- your labtop or tablet,
- paper,
- something to write with,
- a calculator.
Exams
- One midterm exam will be given in class, during our regular lecture time on 3/7.
- The final exam will be Tuesday 5/9 from 1:30-4:30pm. The location will be posted as soon as it is known.
- Formula Sheet: You will be allowed to make your own formula sheet for both the midterm and final exam. Here are the requirements:
- You may use exactly one 8-1/2" by 11" sheet of paper, both sides.
- You may write any information you believe will be useful to you.
- You must write your name on your formula sheet.
- You may not share formula sheets during the exam.
- Your formula sheet will be collected with your exam.
Excused Absences
- Please submit your excused absence no later than 12 business days from your absence via the Excused Absences application.

Registering After the First Day of Classes
If you registered after the first day of classes but before the 10th day of classes:
- It is your responsibility to contact your lecturer and organize a plan for make-up work.
- You must do this before the 8th week of classes.

- All activities in this course, including iclicker voting and documentation submitted for petition for an excused absence, are subject to the Academic Integrity rules as described in Article 1, Part 4, Academic Integrity, of the Student Code.
