Program in Arms Control & Domestic and International Security (ACDIS)
PHYS / GLBL 280 faculty and students with an interest in arms control and security participate in ACDIS, "an interdisciplinary venture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign that facilitates objective research, academics, and outreach about international security issues within the academic and policymaking communities." You will hear us refer to ACDIS throughout the course because of our closely shared concerns. For undergraduates, ACDIS offers
- events you can attend,
- a student-led research journal in which you can publish: the Illini Journal of International Security (IJOIS), and
- an Undergraduate Securities Study Group in which you can participate.
ACDIS also offers formal opportunities, through hiring student interns and providing an Undergraduate Certificate in Global Security.
