Summary

The Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP) cordially invites you to attend a webinar with renowned expert on North Korea and a professor at the University of Vienna, Dr. Rüdiger Frankentitled "Update on the Economy: How Desperate is North Korea?" The webinar will be held on Friday, 8 May 2020, from 12:00 to 13:00 via Zoom.

A major international concern about North Korea is the country's WMD program. However, the funding of that program and the likeliness of proliferation or an actual use of WMD is closely connected to the North Korean economy. Based on the latest economic data as reported during the April 2020 parliamentary session, Dr. Frank will explore the status and future prospects of North Korea's economic development. Are there signs of reform, or crisis? Are the sanctions effective? What is the impact on North Korea's negotiating position?

The discussion will be moderated by VCDNP Executive Director Elena K. Sokova

Please note that if you have already registered, there is no need to register again. Due to limitations in bandwidth, we are not able to host more than 100 participants. As such, registrants will be granted access on a first-come, first-served basis.
