Course Grading

Gradebook

You will be able to view your grades on all components of the course in the gradebook. Check that your homework and discussion problem set grades are correctly entered in the gradebook.

Any discrepancies found in your student gradebook should be brought to the attention of your section instructor immediately.

Grading

Your final grade for Physics 325 will be based upon your total score on all the components of the course. The total possible score is 1000 points.

Everyone starts with 0 credit points (CPs). You gain CPs by doing homework, attending discussions, attending lectures, and taking the midterm and final exams. There will be 11 homework sets and in total they will be worth 33 % of your grade. There will be 14 discussion sessions, and attending them will be worth 12% of your grade. Attending Lectures will make up 5% of your grade. There will be two midterm exams worth 15% each and one final exam worth 20% of your grade.

You can earn up to 30 bonus points (up to 2 points per week) by asking and answering questions in the office hours.
