Welcome to Physics 401: Classical Laboratory!
- 06 May: Happy reading day!
- All course materials are due on Fri 14Dec (end of exam period). If you have several reports to submit, please be kind to the TAs and submit some of them before then if possible.
- Remember that you can revise and resubmit one report for a replacement grade.
- All course staff are still hosting office hours at their usual times this week and throughout exam week, for help with finishing assignments. Note that Prof. Filippini's office hours will be 3-4pm Monday (or by appointment).
- Please fill out your ICES Online forms. These provide useful feedback to the course staff, especially as we plan for the coming semester.
- 15 Mar: In order to help get through this unusual term, we have decided to make the week of 22-26 Mar into an Unofficial P401 Spring Break.
- No lecture/lab that week. Prof. Filippini will hold office hours during the lecture slot instead of his usual time.
- No problem set #2.
- All due dates delayed until the following week, including 1-week/2-week late due dates.
- Any old reports that are turned in by April 1 will be accepted at a 10% grade deduction (i.e. as if they made the 2-week deadline).
- 08 Mar: We have posted two data sets for the Millikan oil drop lab on the schedule page: a short data set to use to set up your analysis, and a full data set to use for your full charge analysis. These take the place of the "your group" and "full class" data sets discussed in the writeup.
- 15 Feb: Problem set #1 has been posted on the schedule page. It covers error propagation and the FFT, and is due in one week, the night of Mon Feb 22. No lab this week!
