The final exam has been graded. The class mean was 91 + 20 out of 120 points, or 76 + 17%. Scores have been entered into gradebook. Exams can be viewed in person only with Prof. Chemla in his office, 161 Loomis, by request. Please send an email to schedule an appointment.

Graded problem sets can be picked up from Prof. Chemla's office. Please email to make an appointment.

The PS #7 solution set has an error in the Taylor expansion in problem 3b. The correct answer for the heat capacity should be: CV ≈ 3NkB(1 - 1/20×θ2/T2). A corrected solution set will be posted on the schedule page.  If you were marked off on this problem and have the correct answer, please contact Prof. Chemla and the grader Srivatsan Balakrishnan.

Starting with PS #3, we will encounter certain types of integrals containing exponentials (Gaussian, gamma function) and infinite series. Here is a math worksheet from last semester for those looking for a review/practice of those concepts. Also, Appendix A of Kittel and Kroemer discusses these types of integrals.
