Course Description
An introduction to nonrelativistic quantum mechanics. The Schrodinger equation and its properties; single particle solutions in one dimension, including the simple harmonic oscillator; operators, completeness, and the Hilbert space of solutions; angular momentum and the hydrogen atom; time permitting, identical particles.
4 undergraduate hours. 4 graduate hours. Prerequisite: PHYS 214 and PHYS 435 or ECE 329.
