Grading scheme
Homework 60%
Final project 40%
Final Project
There will be no exams or quizzes. There will be a final project, which will be worth 40% of your grade. Your final project will center on a recent theoretical or experimental atomic physics journal article. For your final project, you will give a 15 minute, conference-style talk to the class (the last several classes and/or the scheduled final exam time will be dedicated to this activity, and it will be remote over zoom).
Homework sets and the final project will not be accepted late, unless you have an official excuse signed by the Emergency Dean or you must be out of town for a good reason (your wedding or a scientific conference are good reasons).
