Announcements

  • 4/28/10 The Phys 140 Final Exam is Thursday, May 13, 7-10 PM. The exam consists of about 95 questions based on material throughout the entire semester.
  • 4/28/10 Please check the Phys 140 Gradebook to make sure all your scores are correct.
  • 4/27/10 Don't miss the lecture on Physics and Baseball by our own "Mr. Baseball," Professor Al Nathan, on Thursday, April 29, 4 PM in Loomis 141.
  • 4/14/10 Exam 3 is on Wednesday, April 21, at 7 PM. If you have a conflict, you must sign up for the conflict exam (same date, 5:45 PM) in the Gradebook by Monday, April 19 at 10 PM. If you have a conflict with both exam times, you must email Professor Willenbrock and arrange a double-conflict exam.

  • 3/30/10 New for Fall 2010: Physics 150, " Science and Society '' (also called "How Nature Works"), a critical look at the important science and technology issues that affect society. See the web site for the course. Fulfills the General Education requirement in Physical Sciences.

  • 3/15/10 Exam 2 is on Wednesday, March 17, at 7 PM. If you have a conflict, you must sign up for the conflict exam (same date, 5:45 PM) in the Gradebook by Monday, March 15 at 10 PM. If you have a conflict with both exam times, you must email Professor Willenbrock and arrange a double-conflict exam.

  • 3/4/10 James Scholar project: You may take the James Scholar quiz at any point after finishing the assignment (and before the end of the final-exam period).
  • 2/2/10 Exam 1 is on Wednesday, February 10, at 7 PM. If you have a conflict, you must sign up for the conflict exam (same date, 5:45 PM) in the Gradebook by Monday. If you have a conflict with both exam times, you must email Professor Willenbrock and arrange a double-conflict exam.
  • 1/27/10 If you choose to purchase WileyPLUS (see the announcement directly below), you'll need to register at this web site.
  • 1/25/10 Information about the variety of electronic textbook options may be found here.
  • 1/20/10 We use i>clickers in PHYS 140 lectures. You must register your i>clicker at the i>clicker web site. (Your Student ID is your Net ID, which is your email address [without the @illinois.edu]. Your Remote ID is on the back of your i>clicker.) If you cannot read the Remote ID on the back of your i>clicker, please go to the Customer Service Counter at the Illini Union Bookstore. A station has been set up there so that you can retrieve the Remote ID.
