Final exam dates/times: You can sign up for either the "combined" exam on Friday 12/13 or the "conflict" exam on 12/17. Please sign up by Wednesday 12/11 at latest.
Final exam locations: The final exam room schedule can be found here, organized by course (Phys 211), term (Fall 2019), and your Discussion instructor.
Final exam review sessions: The schedule and location of CARE review sessions will be posted here
Office hours in advance of final exams: Extra Wednesday office hours will be held on 12/11, along with the usual office hours on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. No office hours will be held the week of 12/16-12/20.
flipitPhysics
You will need to get flipitPhysics access and do the first Prelecture and Checkpoint before you go to the first lecture.
- Go to http://flipitphysics.com.
- Click on the Register button, and create an account using your < NetID@illinois.edu > email address
- Complete your profile, then click on the Enrollments Tab
- Click on the Join a Course link and enter UIP211FA19
- Enter your NetID (e.g. whatever is in front of @illinois.edu in your email address) and click Enroll Course
You will need to join a second (FREE) FlipItPhysics class in order to have access to the course lab materials. The instructions below assume you have already signed up for FlipItPhysics as described above.
- Go to http://flipitphysics.com and log into your account, (or if you are already logged in just click the account link at the top).
- Click on the Join a Course link and enter a code that depends on the day you have your lab:
UIP211FA19_L1 for Monday lab sections (L1A, L1E, L1J, L1M, L1R)
UIP211FA19_L2 for Tuesday lab sections (L2A, L2E, L2J, L2M, L2R)
UIP211FA19_L3 for Wednesday lab sections (L3A, L3E, L3J, L3M, L3R)
UIP211FA19_L4 for Thursday lab sections (L4A, L4E, L4J, L4M, L4R)
UIP211FA19_L5 for Friday lab sections (L5A, L5E, L5J, L5M) - Enter your NetID (e.g. whatever is in front of @illinois.edu in your email address) and click Enroll Course. (If you join the wrong FlipItPhysics lab course by mistake you dont need to worry - just do it again and join the right one.)
Lecture
Students must be on time and prepared for lecture.
- No credit will be granted to students attending without their i>clicker.
- Your i>clicker must be working to receive participation credit.
- You must bring your iClicker and note-taking supplies to every lecture, including the first.
- Please register your iClicker in the student gradebook.
- Be sure to refer to the iClicker information page for more information.
Laboratory
Students must be on time and prepared for labs.
- Each student will need an IOLab device (see Required Materials for more details.)
- You will do a hands-on Pre-Lab activity using your IOLab device before every lab, guided by theFlipItPhysics Lab course you signed up for above. In your weekly lab section you will work in groups to design and understand experiments and experimental data, also using your IOLab device.
- You will upload your lab reports to https://my.physics.illinois.edu/courses/upload/.
Discussion
Students must be on time and prepared for discussion.
- Students arriving more than 10 minutes late for discussion will receive a grade of 0% on their quiz.
- You must have your discussion manual with you for each discussion section (including the first section).
Excused Absences
- Please submit your excused absence no later than 12 business days from your absence via the Excused Absences application.

Academic Integrity
- All activities in this course, including documentation submitted for petition for an excused absence, are subject to the Academic Integrity rules as described in Article 1, Part 4, Academic Integrity, of the Student Code.
