PHYS 523 :: Physics Illinois :: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Instrumentation and Applied Physics Project
Meet our students!
Our program's primary goal is to prepare graduates for stimulating professional careers in research and development in industrial, national laboratory, healthcare, and other settings upon graduation. The Illinois M.Eng. is a stand-alone degree, and is not intended as a first step towards acceptance into a university PhD program. Even so, about half of our students have, as their preferred path, enrollment in a PhD program after graduating from the master's program. All have been accepted into at least one doctoral program. The remaining students are applying for STEM positions in the workforce.
Group 1: Equine diagnostic applications of Real Time Kinematics precision GPS systems.
- Samriddhi is an undergraduate phyics major.
- Seth graduated from Ohio State before joining us. He has been accepted by several PhD programs and
will enroll in one of them next year.
- Boyun graduated from the University of Illinois before entering the M.Eng. program.
He hopes to join the workforce in a STEM field upon graduation.
Group 2: Acoustic characterization and optimization of a Krannert Center dance studio.
- Colton is a graduate of Imperial College, London. He is seeking a STEM poition in industry
or at a national lab.
- Josh graduated from Concordia University, Irvine. He is a musician as well as a physicist,
focusing pimarily on organ. Josh hopes to join the workforce in a STEM field that focuses on music, instruments,
or acoustics upon graduation.
- Neng graduated from SUNY Buffalo before joining us.
He hopes to join the workforce in a STEM field.
- Christian graduated from Purdue.
He has been accepted into a few PhD programs and
will begin his doctoral studies next year.
