Dan Carson built some customized P-90 style electric guitar pickups. See also his UIUC Physics 2010 Senior Thesis for more info this topic, on the P406POM NSF REU webpage!


Drew Beeson repaired a Vox wah pedal, rebuilt an electric guitar he had made in high school, then measured its complex mechanical vibrations vs. frequency and also repaired, then modified his Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp.


Gregory Formosa carried out in-depth studies of the specific acoustic impedance and harmonicity for various Bb trumpet mutes.


Jason Stull modifed an Epiphone Valve Junior amp


John Nichols investigated the harmonic content of vowels


Kim Bongen built a replica of a tweed 5F6A '59 Fender Bassman amp


Robert Marshall also (differently) modified an Epiphone Valve Junior amp


Tyler Malone built a tube screamer (designed by S. Errede)
