Lab 5
Part 1
- MP1 and MP2 were graded. Results are in subversion.
- MP2 will be graded again next week on Monday
- MP2 Code Review with your TA.
- MP3 (TopSecret) is now available and will be graded next week on Monday
- Spring 2017: Handout
Part 2:
Lab Objectives
- For MP1 (DebugMe) and MP2 (Hollywood) scores, check in subversion 'autograder directory'.
- Learn how to check MP grading results (including compiler and runtime output messages) in subversion.
- Most students have finished MP2 (scored 100%). Fix any errors in MP2 and recommit. MP2 will regraded next Monday.
- Start on MP3 (TopSecret), which is due next Monday.
- Work on Turing's Craft. Get help on problems you couldn't answer. Use the lectures page and TC's sections view to determine which questions you should have completed.
- Open up Turing's Craft and show your lab assistant how you're doing.
- Talk to your Lab Assistants. Ask for help when needed! Please ask your lab assistants for help on the MPs, programming, using Eclipse and their experience in later CS courses.
Autograder
- For later grading, MPs are graded out of a lower score. Therefore, you may see '80/80' for example later.
- For each MP, the score for course grading purposes is the highest score of all grading runs.
- For a definitive answer to your MP score, check subversion using a web browser (refresh the page to get the latest info).
Next week
Next week we will be starting the pair programming projects. You should start forming a small team of peers now (no more than 3 people per team). Here are the highlights:
- Yes, you need to be a team member; it's a required part of the course.
- No, you cannot work alone; being a computer scientist means working with others.
- Yes, it's graded (more details next week).
- This project is different from the MPs. The MPs define specific programming objectives. Being a computer scientist means being able to create things and work with others. This is the main purpose of the pair programming project.
